Topics include:

  • NFPA 660 and related standards

  • Combustibility testing (Kst, Pmax, MIE, MIT)

  • Explosion prevention and protection (venting, suppression, isolation)

  • Dust hazard analysis (DHA) case studies

Day 3 – Oct 29

Understanding and Controlling Electrostatic Hazards

Delve into how static electricity is generated and how it can ignite flammable atmospheres. This course includes real-world case studies and demonstrations of electrostatic discharges.

Topics include:

  • Types of electrostatic discharge (spark, brush, cone, etc.)

  • Testing methods and electrostatic properties

  • NFPA 77 and IEC 60079-32 guidance

  • Bonding, grounding, and other mitigation techniques

Day 4 – Oct 30

Evaluation & Selection of Electrical Equipment for Use in Hazardous Areas
